Niykee who's had a whirlwind few years including being chosen by Snoop to perform with Snoop at The YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee has a regular songwriting routine despite this. Being a magnet for producers, Niykee has a constant eye on the numerous beats sent to her. The majority of them spark new music ideas. I can tell if a beat is great after five seconds and then I'll get a song in my head and start writing right away she tells. If I am sitting at my front porch, playing guitar, the lyrics just appear and usually are done in less than 30 minutes. Niykee has found that her memories of pain provide endless sources of motivation. "Even even if I'm not writing about my personal life the grief of losing my sister and my painful childhood experiences are integrated in my lyrics," she says. This influences my music and builds this deeper significance behind everything that is one the most important things for me. I want to be able to say that I'll be able to hear any of my songs in 20 years from now and still be happy with what I said.
